Karnataka Schools and Colleges Holiday Tomorrow: In observance of previous Chief Minister SM Krishna, Karnataka schools and colleges will be closed on December 11 and 12. All government offices, schools, colleges, other assisted educational facilities are to observe a public holiday, according to the Karnataka government. From December 10 to 12, the state will observe a three-day period of mourning.
All government offices will fly the national flag at half-mast during the period of mourning, which ends on December 12. The government will also refrain from hosting any cultural or entertainment activities during this time.
Bengaluru was regarded as India’s Silicon Valley because to SM Krishna, who died on December 10 at the age of 92. At 2:45 AM, he passed away. On Wednesday, his birthplace of Mandya will host his cremation with full state honors.
In 2023, SM Krishna also received India’s second-highest civilian honor, the Padma Vibhushan. Krishna, who was born on May 1, 1932, in Somanahalli, Mandya district, was also the Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly and the Governor of Maharashtra.
